Senior Employment Attorney in D.C. – Executive Negotiations Specialist in Higher Education (must be admitted to the D.C. Bar)

Overview:

We are on the hunt for a charismatic and exceptionally skilled Senior Employment Attorney, with a unique talent for negotiation and deal-making within the Higher Education sector. This pivotal role is designed for a veteran attorney who thrives in high-stakes negotiation settings and excels in engaging with top-tier academic leaders. As the face of our firm’s negotiation efforts, you’ll have the crucial task of crafting and closing executive employment agreements that benefit both parties. This position is not just about legal expertise; it’s about being a strategic negotiator who can schmooze with the best of them. The right candidate will have an unmatched ability to build relationships, understand client needs deeply, and negotiate terms that lead to successful, long-lasting partnerships. Managing a dedicated team, including a junior attorney and a senior paralegal, you will steer our firm towards reclaiming its prestigious standing in the industry, with potential earnings exceeding $600,000 as business levels are restored.

Pay:

$500 per hour.

Responsibilities:

– Lead high-level negotiations with heads of major universities and colleges to secure favorable executive employment agreements.

– Utilize exceptional interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with key figures in the Higher Education sector.

– Drive the strategic direction of negotiations, employing a deep understanding of both legal considerations and client aspirations to facilitate win-win outcomes.

– Represent the firm in critical discussions, showcasing our value proposition and reinforcing our reputation as industry leaders in executive employment negotiations.

– Manage and mentor a dedicated team, including a junior attorney and a senior paralegal, ensuring high-quality documentation and efficient deal progression.

– Spearhead business development efforts, leveraging personal networks and industry connections to identify new opportunities and restore the firm’s business to its former level.

– Provide insightful, client-focused advice and solutions, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.

Requirements:

– Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and a valid license to practice law.

– A minimum of 10 years of experience in employment law, with a significant portion dedicated to negotiation and deal-making at the executive level in the Higher Education sector.

– Proven track record of successful negotiations and relationship building with high-profile clients.

– Strong leadership skills with experience managing legal staff.

– Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with academic leaders and navigating complex negotiations.

– Strategic thinker with a knack for identifying opportunities and crafting mutually beneficial agreements.

– Commitment to professionalism, ethical practice, and maintaining client confidentiality.
