Production Manager, Model Y, General Assembly (Day Shift)

What to Expect

The Production Manager on A shift will report to the Senior Manufacturing Manager and will be responsible for meeting the production plan and driving continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing processes. They will also provide leadership and coaching to the team, and will be hands-on, when needed, to meet the goals and objectives of Tesla.

What You’ll Do

  • Build a strong, motivated production team capable of consistently delivering high-quality products against aggressive production targets
  • Maintain high product quality and manufacturing yield while ensuring optimal use of resources and adherences to best safety practices
  • Ensure production teams utilize standardized work and consistent work practices across shifts and areas
  • Monitor metrics and Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s) to assess Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost
  • Help with implementation of and continued adherence to Lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives
  • Partner and Coordinate with Design, Engineering, Quality, HR and Maintenance to resolve issues and concerns
  • Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams’ safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations

What You’ll Bring

  • 10 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assembly. General Assembly is a plus
  • The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to pro-actively communicate with all employees and works well in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Good understanding of mechanical and standardized processes
  • Ability to use problem solving methods and techniques to successfully and efficiently resolve problems
  • Ability to foster a close working relationship with team members and management

Expected Compensation

$120,000 – $180,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
