Equipment Engineer, Stamping
We are seeking a highly motivated Stamping Equipment Engineer to design, develop, and implement manufacturing equipment and processes for our cutting-edge blanking and stamping facility. This demanding, fast-paced environment requires a proactive individual who thrives on challenging projects and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating new equipment and processes, as well as updating existing equipment to meet evolving production needs. This role involves close collaboration with Design Engineering, Quality, and Production teams throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial design concepts to full production implementation.
What You’ll Do
- Improve production workstations for ergonomics, safety and efficiency
- Work closely with the process engineer to troubleshoot and find the root causes of the issues affecting the efficiency of the shop
- Work with the cross-functional teams to improve the quality of the produced parts
- Develop improvements in manufacturing processes and equipment
- Design equipment parts and fixtures
- Develop specifications for custom automation equipment
- Closely collaborate with external equipment integrators on custom automation equipment design and manage the buy off process
- Validate and characterize new equipment and fixtures/tooling for production implementation
- Modify PLC / Robots logic to improve the performance of the equipment
- Management of the predictive maintenance
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or with equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in equipment/manufacturing/maintenance discipline is preferred
- 2+ years of stamping process and 1+ year of project management experience is a plus
- Experience with new equipment installations and new product startups/launches
- CAD/CAM/CAE software as SolidWorks or Catia transitioning designs from prototype to production
- Experience programming industrial robots (FANUC, Kuka, Kawasaki) preferred
- Controls experience including (Rockwell, Siemens) PLC programming knowledge preferred
- Programming languages (Python, SQL)
- Experience developing solutions for automotive manufacturing equipment. Strong mechanical fabrication and machine shop skills, operating a mill, lathe, welder is a plus
- Two to eight weeks of travel annually is required for this position

$80,000 – $168,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
