Staff Quality Engineer, Optimus Manufacturing Test
What to Expect
Join the Optimus Manufacturing Team in building revolutionary humanoid bi-pedal robots (Tesla Bot) that transform the way we approach mundane, repetitive, and hazardous tasks. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with experts in mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and manufacturing engineering to bring this ambitious vision to life. Be prepared to unleash your creativity and technical expertise to tackle complex challenges.
What You’ll Do
- Develop end to end quality strategies and drive continuously improvement of Tesla bot manufacturing test coverage and processes
- Conduct PFMEA to identify potential failure modes. Address them with improved test coverage and processes to improve quality and cycle time
- Work with test software and firmware engineers to implement test coverage from bot subassembly through full bot assembly
- Analyze manufacturing test data to quantify station yields, root causing failures and derive corrective actions. This includes conducting Design of Experiments studies to optimize pass/fail limits
- Work with component design teams to implement quality improvement plans at component level (Tesla or supplier site) based on issues identified on bot assembly line
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure test equipment meets scalability and performance requirements
- Develop scalable testing deployment strategy in multiple geographic locations
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience
